Due to popular demand, following a series of local school coaching sessions, the ICC Global Cricket Academy, in partnership by Dubai Sports City, today announced the launch of its junior cricket coaching programmes starting on Saturday, 6 March in Dubai, and Friday, 12 March in Abu Dhabi.
With kind support offered by Al Tayer Motors, Ford Motor Company, and Gulf News, the 10-week junior coaching programme will allow children aged 5-12 years old to develop their skills, under the tutorship of internationally qualified and experienced staff.
Top coaches include Director of Coaching at ICC Global Cricket Academy, and ex-Australian cricketer, Rod Marsh, plus the Academy’s Head Coaches Mudassar Nazar and Dayle Hadlee.
“Cricket is among the top sports played in the UAE, and following the recent success of the Twenty20 international cricket matches held in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, there has been even greater interest from youngsters to learn the basic skills of the game,” said Marc Archer, General Manager, ICC Global Cricket Academy.
Rod Marsh, Director of Coaching at ICC Global Cricket Academy, added: “Our coaches have been very involved with local schools, and children have responded extremely well to our programmes. This has given us the opportunity to launch a junior coaching programme that UAE youngsters of all abilities can take part in. We expect to receive a large amount of cricket enthusiasts looking to develop their skills and have plenty of fun.”
The junior coaching programme kicks off on Saturday, 6 March at Deira International School (Festival City) in Dubai.
